Vilron 6 Card Stud Poker

Here is a simple way for four players to play Vilron Six Card Poker

There are four people at the table: South, West, North, and East (reading clockwise). Any limits can be set by the players but for the purposes of this example, and our current competition, the total amount that each player will be able to bet on any one hand will be $1000. The DEAL will rotate, starting with South.

Hand 1: South is DEALER. West puts in an "Ante" of $100. North puts in a 'raise' to $200.

Each player is dealt two cards by the dealer, one card at a time starting on the dealer's left. After West's 'ante' and North's raise to $200, East bets first and must either follow with the $200, or FOLD (out of the hand). East can also raise, up to a limit of $1000, but no more than the total in the 'pot'. The total amount that each person can bet on any one deal is $1000.

There are no Competitions for this week.

Order of betting: after the initial round of betting, the HIGHEST better starts the betting for the next round. If the $200 'big blind' has been matched, then the person putting in the big blind bets first on the next round. If there have been raises or re-raises, then the person who is the last raiser will start the betting for the next round. Betting options: if there has been any money laid out, the first player to bet can "FOLD" (out of that hand), "CALL" (match the amount put in), or "RAISE" (up to any amount but no more than a total of $1000 on any one hand). After the first round, which has a small blind of $100 and a big blind of $200, the first player to bet on any subsequent rounds has a further option: they can "CHECK" which means not betting anything but remaining in the hand. The next people to bet can also 'check' or raise if they wish, and betting continues in the normal way.

After the end of betting on the first round, ONE card is dealt to the middle, face up. Each player can use EITHER the top OR bottom of this card to combine with either the top or bottom of each of their 'hidden' cards. The first round of betting then takes place. There are three more 'community' cards turned up, one at a time, and a round of betting takes place each time. Thus there are a total of SIX cards, from which the best five card combination is made. Only the top or bottom of any one card can count, not both, and the best combination of FIVE cards, as in normal poker, wins the hand. Normal hierarchy of winning hands applies, except that FIVE OF A KIND is the best possible hand that one can have, higher than a Straight Flush.

If there are two or more exactly equal hands, the total amount of money in the pot is split among the players holding the winning hand.

For the second deal at each table, the deal passes to West, then for the third deal it goes to North, and finally to East. All dealers shuffle and deal the cards themselves.

Vilron Six Card can be played with any number of players but is ideally suited to multiples of four, making up tables of four. A 'movement' can be set up so that each player gets to play against different players after every four hands. Help with organizing movements is readily available by contacting us.
